Trunk Show

Had a trunk show at my friend Linda's last Sunday. Got some great feedback, sold a few pieces, (some to people I didn 't even know!), and generally had a great time. Got some great tips, (earring backs...of course!), met some great people, learned a lot, and collapsed in Starbucks for 3 and a half hours afterwards. Having a bit of trouble getting motivated to get back to work without a deadline, but I have plenty to do...finish my mask of comedy and tragedy piece for Annette, who is patiently waiting, rescue some of the older pieces from the jewelry hospital where they languish, and make more earrrings. I sold out of every single pair I made.  Keep checking back for more stuff.

New Frontiers

Putting some new pieces on the website. It's about time, wouldn't you say?  For some time, I was totally immersed in base metals and what they will do, but recently I've been telling stories in a different way; combining granulated silver with copper and funky grommets to make pieces that speak, I hope to everyone.  Please note, that some of the pieces are not quite finished; earrings missing wires, pendants missing links, etc. I wanted to start getting it out there. And as always if you have something to say or a story to tell, contact me. I'd love to tell it.

Anyone in there?

Well, did my first "show", Portfest in Port Washington on the 19th of May. Sold 2 pairs of earrings (and only one buyer was someone I  knew!!!) Learned a lot and I'm looking forward to some of the bigger, juried shows. Of course, I need to really work on inventory.  Feeling a little jeweler's block. Sit at my bench and stare.   A lot of ideas in my head, but they're sort of stuck there.  I need a can opener.

The softest of openings

Well, I haven't had much to write about although I have been working. I am going to be an exhibitor at Portfest in Port Washington in two weeks. A small venue, but still very exciting. And terrifying, as this whole journey is. I'm working on some new pieces which I'll be showing you all soon. Need to get some pics first. Thanks for hanging in there with me.

Welcome!

I hope you're enjoying my site as much as I enjoy bringing it to you. Starting a new adventure is thrilling and terrifying.  I am so inspired by what goes on the world, from the most visible current events to the most private moments. In fact my first two pieces which I did simultaneously, were BFF which includes photos of my family treated with coffee grounds to make them look as though they were dug up from a bygone era, and What?/Why? which is about Occupy Wall Street here in NYC.  You have to look carefully at the pieces; there's a lot there.  Welcome to my crazy world.
